ANSI Naming Standard Posted For Public Comment/Review

APCO International's Standards Development Committee (SDC, an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer or ASD) has posted the Candidate APCO/NPSTC ANS 1.104.1-200x: Standard Channel Nomenclature for the Public Safety Interoperability Channels and associated Frequently Asked Questions documents at the following website: http://apcointl.org/new/commcenter911/ansi-activity.php

The Public Review and Comment Period is October 16 - November 30, 2009.  Information on how to provide comments can be found at the above website below the links to download the two documents. Members of NPSTC's Interoperability Committee will serve as Subject Matter Experts to review and provide recommendations to APCO's SDC for resolution of any comments received.

I encourage all of you, particularly if you support the Standard Channel Nomenclature Standard as posted, to email in your statement of support or submit other comments or questions as you deem appropriate.

IMPORTANTLY, if you have questions on the standard please submit an email comment and cc: John Powell (jpowell@berkeley.edu) on your question so we can evaluate it with respect to an addition or change to the FAQs.
